Elementary
Level
In addition to the
district's elementary music curriculum, the following fee-based programs
provide opportunities for further music enrichment:
Beginning Band is offered before school
for interested 6th grade students. Bus transportation is available.

Beginning Band
students will start class on Monday, September 19, 2011 and will meet each
school day throughout the year.

Classes will begin at
7:35 a.m. and will
be dismissed at 8:50 a.m. At that time, students will be bused to their
respective elementary schools.

Band
class for all students from Forest Hills, Lake Grove, Oak Creek, and
Uplands will be held in the band room at Lake Oswego High School.

Band
class for all students from Bryant, Hallinan, River
Grove, and Westridge will be held in the band room at Waluga Junior
High School.

Beginning
Band bus transportation information

Should
students elect to use private transportation to beginning band, they
should arrive no earlier than 7:15 a.m. to ensure proper supervision
is available at the site.
Beginning Strings is offered before
school for interested students in grades 4, 5, and 6 who have no
previous playing experience on violin, viola, cello, or bass.
- No prior
knowledge of music reading skills is required.
- Classes are held at Lake Grove
Elementary
- Bus
transportation is provided to Lake Grove, and students are bused
to their respective elementary schools after class.
Elementary
Orchestra is offered before school for those in grades 4, 5, or 6 who do have previous
playing experience on violin, viola, cello or bass.

have taken private lessons on one of the orchestral string
instruments for at least one year

have been in Elementary Orchestra before
- Classes are held at Lake Grove
Elementary
- Bus
transportation is provided to Lake Grove, and students are bused

Secondary
Level
Secondary students also have access to a
variety of district-sponsored activity programs. Options range from
student leadership to dramatics, second language clubs to community
service groups. Visit a school
