Scholars' Alliance is a unique academic program offered by the Lake Oswego School District to students at Lake Oswego and Lakeridge high schools.

The goal of the Scholars' Alliance program is to improve critical thinking skills and help students develop deeper insight and a more systematic approach to problem solving. Through the study of interdisciplinary concepts, students are taught how to examine issues from multiple perspectives in order to find creative paths to a solution.

In addition, practical workshops are offered on the college admissions process.

Students participate in Scholars' Alliance with a parent. The program meets for a three-hour session once a month on Saturday mornings.

Scholars' Alliance is a three-year program. All incoming sophomore students will receive a letter in September inviting students and parents to attend an informational meeting regarding the program. Details regarding the application process are also shared at that meeting. Enrollment in the program is capped in consideration of facility and logistical constraints.

Informational Meeting:
Saturday, September 10, 2011
9:00 a.m.
LOHS auditorium

2011-12 tuition for the Scholars' Alliance program is $400 per year.
